How to Improve Your Golf Game at Home
When the weather turns cool and rainy, you probably won’t find yourself out on the golf course much. However, you can always take advantage of your indoor time to improve your game right at home! Try some of these strategies during the off-season to keep your golfing skills sharp and your mind focused until you can hop back into your golf cart and make your way around the course again in the spring.
1. Adjust Your Posture
Maintaining good posture while you’re swinging your club will help improve your accuracy. Also, ensuring that your posture is correct can help prevent pain and injury. Set up a full-length mirror in a space without anything breakable nearby (your garage might be best) and grab a club to practice your swing. Make sure that you’re bending forward at your hips, keeping your chest over your toes so that your arms can swing freely.
2. Stretch More
Keeping yourself limber will also help your swing, in addition to reducing your chances of pulling a muscle. Try looking up some stretches online that are unique to golfers, or enrolling in a local yoga or pilates class to improve your flexibility.
3. Use Alignment Aids
When you’re trying to line up your shots, it can be challenging to get it right without visual aids. Place some strips of bright masking tape on the floor and practice putting your ball by following them with your eyes.
