Great Golf Games to Play
The game of golf has many variations that can be played with your fellow golfing companions. These games can spice up your usual routine at the golf course by creating a unique way of competing with other players. Here are just a few of our favorite types of golf games you can try out the next time you’re with friends at your local 18-hole course.
1. Nassau
This simple game is probably the most popular golf game out there. You’ll place a series of three bets with your fellow players. You’ll bet on the low front nine score, the low back nine score, and the low total score. The bets don’t have to be really high: by paying a couple of dollars on each bet, you can make the game fun without breaking the bank.
2. Bingo Bango Bongo
This points-based game has three stages that involve a player being the first to achieve something. The “bingo” is the first player in your group who gest their ball on the green. The “bango” is the player whose ball is closest to the pin after every player has their ball on the green. The “bongo” is the first player to hold out. This game is great for beginner players, since it simply requires you to be the first to achieve something.
3. Sixes
Also called “Six-Six-Six” or “Hollywood” or “Round Robin,” Sixes is a game that involves rotating partners every six holes. If you have four players, you’ll each choose a partner for the first six holes, then you’ll rotate players for the next two rounds of six holes until you’ve all played with each other once. The winner is the player with the most success in all three matches at the end of 18 holes.
